The rest of the game sees Rufus and a supporting cast of characters try to put her back together, while also fending off resident bad guy Cletus and preventing the world from blowing up. Goodbye Deponia picks up right where Chaos on Deponia left off, with our ragtag band of heroes Rufus, Goal, Doc and Bozo on their way to the floating utopia of Elysium to stop Organon and company. With lovably odd characters, a fantastic art design, and a really engaging style of gameplay, Deponia shows what a modern point and click game should be. It’s definitely heavily focused on being a more humorous take on the genre, and while I smiled at a few of the jokes, I rarely found anything. The people left behind have adjusted to their fate, building homes and businesses out of spare parts, and making the most of scarce resources. Deponia is a pretty good point-and-click adventure. The story of the game starts off with main character Rufus managing to drag companion and love interest Goal back to the trash planet of Deponia, which causes the robot to split her core into three personalities, each with distinct needs and interests. Deponia is a planet and a giant garbage dump. A player’s enjoyment of Chaos on Deponia will depend largely on how they feel about obscure puzzles and about their appreciation for the cast of characters and their attitudes towards each other. This fourth chapter in the Deponia saga sends its hero, hapless slacker Rufus hurtling through history in an attempt to break a destructive time loop. The game is developed by Daedalic, a video game studio from Germany, and the first one arrived earlier during this year, which means a finale might be available in 2013.īroadly, the game achieves its first goal without major problems, but fails on the second. Fans of Deponia might have thought their favorite series was done, but DEPONIA DOOMSDAY cleverly allows them to revisit their favorite junk planet through the use of time travel. The game also tries to expanding upon it in order to attract new fans and set characters and story up for the final game, which will conclude the story of Rufus and Goal. The one bright spot in this world for sad-sack Rufus is a beautiful (but married) girl named. Chaos on Deponia is an adventure game that uses a tried and true formula, derived mostly from the first game in the planned trilogy, in order to appeal to those who have already become fans. In Deponia, the world has degenerated into a vast garbage dump. ![]()
